Foreword
This Standard was drafted according to the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
GB/T 18915 "Coated glass" is divided into two parts.
— Part 1. Solar control coated glass;
— Part 2. Low emissivity coated glass.
This Part is Part 2 of GB/T 18915 "Coated glass".
This Part replaces GB/T 18915.2-2002 "Coated glass — Part 2. Low emissivity coated
glass."
The main differences between this Part and GB/T 18915.2-2002 are as follows.
— MODIFY the definitions of “emissivity” and “low emissivity coated glass” in
“terms and definitions”;
— Directly QUOTE the terms and definitions of GB/T 18915.1;
— DELETE the classification according to appearance quality;
— MODIFY the classification according to production process TO the classification
according to coating process;
— ADD the classification according to high temperature resistance of
coating-layer;
— MODIFY the appearance quality requirements;
— MODIFY the color uniformity test’s specimen size and sampling method of batch
chromatic aberration specimen;
— MODIFY the specimen requirements of optical properties test and emissivity
test of the low emissivity coated glass that is tempered before coated;
— MODIFY the wear scar’s measuring position of abrasion resistance test;
— MODIFY the specimen size of acid resistance test and alkali resistance test.
The Standard was proposed by China Building Materials Federation.
This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of the National Architectural Glass
Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC 255).

Coated glass - Part 2. Low emissivity coated glass
1 Scope
This Part specifies low emissivity coated glass’s terms and definitions, product
classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, labeling,
storage, and transportation.
This Part applies to the low emissivity coated glass used for building. The low
emissivity coated glass used for other purposes can refer to this Part.
2 Normative references
The following documents are essential for the application of this document. For dated
references, only the dated editions apply to this document. For undated references,
the latest edition (excluding corrections) applies.

solar energy transmittance and ultraviolet transmittance for glass in building and
related glazing factors

of limiting values

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined by GB/T 18915.1 AND the following terms and
definitions apply to this Part.
6.2.1 Curvature of non-tempered low emissivity coated glass is determined according
to the method specified in GB 11614.
6.2.2 Curvature of tempered and semi-tempered low emissivity coated glass is
determined according to the method specified in GB 15763.2.
6.3 Determination of appearance quality
TAKE the products as specimens. DETERMINE according to the method specified in
GB/T 18915.1.
6.4 Determination of optical properties
6.4.1 Sampling methods
For non-tempered low emissivity coated glass, SELECT three pieces of products
randomly from each batch of products. And CUT 100mm×100mm specimens in the
same position of the product’s central region, totaling three pieces of specimens. For
the low emissivity coated glass that is coated after tempered or semi-tempered, it can
be replaced by using the non-tempered coated glass with the same material and
coating process to prepare the specimens; for the low emissivity coated glass that is
coated before semi-tempered, PREPARE the applicable specimen directly; for the low
emissivity coated glass that is coated before tempered or semi-tempered, it can be
replaced by using the semi-tempered coated glass with the same material and coating
process to prepare the applicable specimens.
6.4.2 Determination methods
CLEAN two surfaces of the specimens with anhydrous ethanol. After it is dried
naturally, DETERMINE according to the method specified in GB/T 2680.
6.5 Determination of color uniformity
Color uniformity of low emissivity coated glass is determined according to the method
specified in GB/T 18915.1.
6.6 Determination of emissivity
6.6.1 Preparation of specimens is the same with 6.4.1.
6.6.2 DETERMINE emissivity according to the method specified in GB/T 2680.
MEASURE and CALCULATE the emissivity of three specimens. The results are
accurate to 0.01.
6.7 Determination of abrasion resistance
6.7.1 Sampling methods
SELECT three pieces randomly in the same batch of products. CUT 100mm×100mm
SELECT 3 pieces of products randomly in the same batch of products. CUT
100mm×100mm specimens in each product, totaling three pieces. For tempered and
semi-tempered low emissivity coated glass, because they can not be cut, it can
manufacture specimens as small as possible with the same process, totaling three
pieces of specimens; if the specimens can not be manufactured, SELECT three
pieces of products randomly, and TAKE a corner of each piece of products as the
specimen.
6.8.2 Test procedure
6.8.2.1 Before test, CLEAN two surfaces of the specimens with anhydrous ethanol.
After it is dried naturally, MEASURE the visible light transmittance of the specimen.
6.8.2.2 ...
