Scope

This Part of GB/T 18890 specifies the basic structure, model naming, technical
requirements, test and acceptance rules, packaging, transportation and storage for
accessories of power cables with cross-linked polyethylene insulation for rated voltage
of 220 kV (Um = 252 kV).
This Part is applicable to outdoor termination, gas-immersed termination for GIS, oil-
immersed termination, straight joint and sectionalizing joint for power cables with
cross-linked polyethylene insulation for rated voltage of 220 kV (Um = 252 kV), which
comply with GB/T 18890.1-2015 under general installation conditions.
This Part does not apply to belt-insulated joints, transition joints for connecting cables
with cross-linked polyethylene insulation and paper insulated cables, and detachable
cable terminals.
