Colour Fastness to Saliva
1 Scope
This Standard specifies a test method for colour fastness to saliva of textile.
This Standard is applicable to various type of textiles.

3 Principles
Adhere the specimen and the specified adjacent fabric together; remove the test
solution after the treatment in artificial saliva; place it between two pieces of flat plates
inside the test equipment; apply the specified pressure; then dry the specimen and
adjacent fabric respectively; evaluate the discolouration of the specimen and staining
of the adjacent fabric.

8.2 Put the instrument with composite-specimen in the thermo-tank. Place it for 4h at
the temperature of 37°C ± 2°C.
8.3 Remove all the sutures on the composite-specimen except one short side.
Unfold the composite-specimen; and hang it at the temperature of not exceeding 60°C
for drying.
8.4 Use grey scale to evaluate the discolouration of the specimen and the staining of
one side of the adjacent fabric that is contacted with the specimen.
9 Test Report
Respectively make reports on the change in colour of the specimen AND the staining
level of each kind of adjacent fabrics.
