Specifications of Summer Toboggan Run
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the general rules, technical requirements, inspection, detection and test requirements, accompanying documents, identification, packaging, transportation and storage of summer toboggan run.
This Standard is applicable to summer toboggan run.
This Standard is not applicable to water slides, slides without rigid manned tools and other slides, on which, the downward sliding of toboggan is not operated by passengers.

3.1.3 Electrical toboggan run
Electrical toboggan run refers to a facility, through which, a manned toboggan does not completely rely on gravity during the sliding process on a fixed track and uses electric power as the power for sliding.
3.2 Average Inclination of Summer Toboggan Run
Average inclination of summer toboggan run refers to the ratio of the overall height difference of the summer toboggan run to the horizontal projection of the total extended length of the summer toboggan run.
3.3 Accessory of Summer Toboggan Run
Accessory of summer toboggan run refers to other facilities required for summer toboggan sports in addition to the main structure of the summer toboggan run. NOTE: it includes: toboggan for summer toboggan run, lifting system, label, marking, reflector, safety net, supporting structure, lighting equipment, power distribution equipment and electrical control system, etc.
3.4 Summer Toboggan Sports
Summer toboggan sports refer to the movement of a toboggan controlled by the passengers to slide from the upwards to the downwards along the summer toboggan run.
3.5 Toboggan for Summer Toboggan Run
Toboggan for summer toboggan run refers to a manned device which has a braking device and uses summer toboggan run for sliding.
3.6 Lift Rail
Lift rail refers to a rail erected between the bottom station area and the top station area and sends toboggan to the top station area.
3.7 Downhill Rail
Downhill rail refers to a rail erected between the top station area and the bottom station area and used to support a manned toboggan to slide from the top station area to the bottom station area.
3.8 Lift for Summer Toboggan Run
Lift for summer toboggan run refers to a system which sends a toboggan along the lift rail from the bottom station area to the top station area. It is composed of lift rail and 5.1.4 The route of summer toboggan run should be close to the original ground, avoid a large area of exploitations or fills and reduce the influence on vegetation and the original landform.

5.1.8 The design of summer toboggan run shall specify the design service life of the whole machine and its main components. The service life of the whole machine shall be not less than 35,000 h.
5.1.9 The maximum load of a single-passenger toboggan for summer toboggan run shall be calculated as 1,000 N. The maximum load of a multi-passenger toboggan with above 2 passengers (including 2 passengers) shall be calculated as 750 N ??? the number of passengers.
5.1.10 In addition to stress calculation for important shafts and important welds of summer toboggan run, the calculation of fatigue strength shall also be performed, and both shall satisfy the corresponding safety factors. For important shafts that are difficult to be disassembled, they shall be designed for infinite life.
5.1.11 When medium carbon steel (such as: 45 Steel and 40Cr Steel) are used, the important shaft materials shall be quenched and tempered.
5.1.12 Under normal operating conditions, the cumulative operating life of the various types of wearing parts shall be not lower than 6 months. Under normal operating conditions, the cumulative operating life of important stressed parts (such as: important pins and traction wire ropes) shall be not lower than 12 months.
5.1.13 Under normal operating conditions, the maximum allowable deformation of the track and supporting structure of summer toboggan run shall be 1/300.
5.1.14 When the chute and track are made of stainless steel, the thickness of the material of the main stressed parts shall be not less than 2 mm; when carbon steel is used, anti-corrosion treatment shall be conducted. The thickness of the opening section of the main stressed parts shall be not less than 5 mm; the thickness of the closed section shall be not less than 3 mm. When glass fiber reinforced plastic is used, the thickness of the material of the main stressed parts shall be not less than 8 mm. The main load-bearing rail of monorail summer toboggan run shall be made of metal materials. The rail width shall be not less than 150 mm; the material thickness shall be not less than 4 mm.
(such as: uneven settlement, cracking and loosening, etc.) that would affect the normal operation of the amusement facility.
5.1.29 The structure design of summer toboggan run shall consider temperature stress caused by changes of the ambient temperature, and the corresponding temperature deformation shall be able to be released.
5.1.30 Chute summer toboggan run shall set up pinboards in the straight section, so as to offset the influence of thermal expansion and contraction on the overall supporting structure of the summer toboggan run. In addition, it shall also be ensured that under the condition of maximum shrinkage, there is no pull-off phenomenon at the lap joint.
5.1.31 Pipeway summer toboggan run shall set up expansion joints in straight sections and curves, so as to offset the influence of thermal expansion and contraction on the overall supporting structure of the summer toboggan run. In addition, there shall be a device to prevent the pipeways from being disconnected from each other after thermal expansion and contraction.
5.1.32 The supporting structure of the summer toboggan run shall effectively fix the summer toboggan run and prevent it from being deformed. The supporting structure shall comply with the following conditions:
a) The supporting structure shall have sufficient rigidity and strength to satisfy the requirements of use;
b) When ferrous metal materials are used for the supporting structure, anti- corrosion treatment shall be conducted;
c) The supporting structure and the lower foundation shall be firmly fixed. 5.1.33 The supporting structure and the lower foundation shall be fixed by modes of pre-embedding, anchoring and bolt connection, etc.
5.1.34 When the height of the supporting structure is greater than 1 m, safety nets shall be installed on both sides of the summer toboggan run, and a walkway for maintenance and rescue shall be installed; or, when safety net is installed on one side, safety passage with guardrails shall be installed on the other side; or, safety passages with guardrails shall be installed on both sides of the summer toboggan run. When safety passage with guardrails is installed on one side, the passage shall be installed outside the arc section. Safety nets and guardrails shall comply with the stipulations of GB 5725 and GB 4053.3.
5.2 Machinery and Structure
5.2.1 Summer toboggan run

5.2.1.11 When a curve is connected to another curve, and the centers of two arcs are on the same side of the summer toboggan run, the two arcs shall be equipped with a smooth transition; when the centers of the two arcs are on the opposite side of the summer toboggan run, the sum of the length of the exit and entrance end of the transition section between the two arcs shall be not less than 6 m.
5.2.1.12 The leap section shall comply with the following requirements: a) The maximum inclination of the leap section of non-powered summer
toboggan run shall be not greater than 50%;
b) The length of the leap section shall be not greater than 12 m;
c) The leap section shall be arranged on the straight section of the downhill rail; the distance between the starting point of the leap section and the end of the upper curve shall be not less than 5 m; the distance between the end of the leap section and the starting point of the lower curve shall be not less than 5 m;
d) On the same straight section, a maximum of 2 leap sections are allowed; the distance between the leap sections shall be not less than 10 m.
5.2.1.13 The wave section shall comply with the following requirements: a) The maximum inclination of the wave section shall be 30%;
b) The wave section shall be set on the straight section of the downhill rail; the distance between the starting point of the wave section and the end point of the upper curve shall be not less than 5 m; the distance between the end of the wave section and the starting point of the lower curve shall be not less than 5 m;
c) On the same straight section, a maximum of 4 wave sections are allowed. 5.2.1.14 The obstacle-free distance between the track of the summer toboggan run and both sides of the toboggan shall be not less than 500 mm; the obstacle-free distance above the seating surface of the toboggan shall be not less than 1.4 m. 5.2.1.15 The visible distance in front of the center point of any track of the downhill rail shall be not less than 15 m; when it is less than 15 m, effective measures shall be set up to ensure a sufficient sighting distance.

d) During the lifting, the spacing of toboggan coupling shall be not less than 10 m.
e) In the top station area, the tow bar can be safely and reliably separated from the toboggan.
5.2.2.3 The ground lifting system shall comply with the following requirements: a) The ground lifting system shall be installed with measures to be separated from the pedestrian passage. The driving device, circuitous device and
tension-adjusting device shall be equipped with effective protective facilities to avoid personnel injury.
b) The rope supporting sheave unit on the rope-return side of the ground lifting system shall prevent personnel from contacting from the side and set up protective facilities when necessary.
c) The static load safety factor of the traction wire ropes of the ground lifting system shall be not less than 3.5.
d) The ground lifting system shall take measures of separating from the pedestrian passage.
e) The projection of the centerline of the lift rail of the manned ground lifting system shall coincide with the projection of the traction wire ropes on the upward-side of the ground lifting system on the horizontal plane, and the allowable error of parallelism is ?? 10 mm.
f) For chute summer toboggan runs, the maximum inclination of the lift rail of the manned ground lifting system shall be not greater than 50%; for pipeway summer toboggan runs, the maximum inclination of the lift rail of the manned ground lifting system shall be not greater than 60%.
g) The rated lifting speed designed for the manned ground lifting system should be greater than 2 m/s. For summer toboggan runs whose lifting speed is
greater than 2 m/s, effective measures shall be taken to prevent the impact caused by lifting. The lifting speed shall be not greater than the designed rated value.
h) For the manned ground lifting system, the diameters of the driving wheel, the circuitous wheel and the rope supporting sheave or rope pressurizing sheave which forms a wrap angle of 90?? (including 90??) through the contact with the traction wire ropes shall simultaneously comply with the following stipulations: collection and distribution of toboggans.
5.2.3.3 The station area shall be equipped with certain maintenance sites and maintenance equipment.
5.2.3.4 The entrance and exit of the station area shall be separated and shall not interfere with each other.
5.2.3.5 The station area shall be equipped with necessary functional rooms, such as: office, ticket sales, storage, maintenance, and mechanical and electrical equipment installation, etc.
5.2.3.6 The mechanical equipment, electrical equipment and wire ropes in the station area shall not endanger the safety of passengers and staff.
5.2.3.7 When operating at night, the illuminance of the station area and along the summer toboggan run shall be not less than 70 lx.
5.2.3.8 Relevant buildings in the station area shall comply with the relevant national regulations on fire protection. In addition, fire protection measures shall be formulated, and necessary fire-fighting equipment shall be equipped.
5.2.3.9 There shall be a communication system between the station areas. Line inspectors shall be equipped with necessary contact equipment, so as to ensure timely and unblocked communication.
5.2.3.10 The station area and the area where the traction wire rope is hooked up and detached shall be equipped with a video surveillance system, so as to observe the passengers?€? getting on and off, and the operation of the traction wire ropes. In accordance with the conditions, other areas should install a video surveillance system. The display screen of the surveillance system shall be clear and without any interference.
5.2.4 Signs and markings
5.2.4.1 At the entrance and exit of the summer toboggan run, there shall be striking passenger notification signs (if necessary, there shall also be English instructions). The signs include, but are not limited to the following content:
a) While riding the toboggan, passengers shall maintain a distance and avoid rear-end collisions. In the event of a rear-end collision, passengers in the rear toboggan shall be held responsible.
b) Passengers shall abide by the rules and regulations of the operation of the summer toboggan run and follow the instructions of the staff.
c) Pregnant women, people suffering from spinal diseases, hypertension, heart diseases, epilepsy and mental illness, or those without self-control ability, for Appendix B.
5.3 Riding System
5.3.1 All toboggans shall be numbered, and the font shall be clear and eye-catching. 5.3.2 The toboggans shall be equipped with a braking device, which shall satisfy the following requirements:
a) When a deceleration or brake handle is used, there shall be an elastic reset device to reset the handle. When the handles are arranged on the side of the toboggan, the control handles shall be symmetrically arranged. The handles shall be easy and reliable to operate; pull backward for braking and push forward for acceleration; there shall also be clear signs of operation. b) For toboggan runs without spacing control, when a toboggan is parked on the track, it is naturally in the braking state, and the toboggan shall not automatically slide downwards on any descending toboggan run except the leap section.
c) For toboggan runs without spacing control, after the toboggan stops in any section of the downhill rail, the toboggan can start to slide down by itself when the braking device is fully released.
d) The braking distance of the toboggan shall not exceed 8 m in any section of the non-leap section of the downhill rail, or, for summer toboggan runs with automatic distance control of the toboggan, the rear toboggan shall be able to automatically decelerate to not higher than the speed of the front toboggan. 5.3.3 The front and rear wheels of the toboggan shall be able to simultaneously contact the chute or the track. For sliding-block toboggan runs, the front block and wheels shall be able to simultaneously contact the track.
5.3.4 The panel of the toboggan should be made of materials with a certain degree of elasticity, such as: rubber and plastics, etc. When other non-elastic materials are used, the front and rear of the toboggan shall be equipped with an elastic buffer device. 5.3.5 The toboggan of pipeway summer toboggan run shall be equipped with safety belts or other effective restraint devices. The safety belts or other effective restraint devices cannot be opened by passengers on their own in non-station areas. The steady wheel of the monorail sliding-block shall have an adjustment mechanism for wear and replenishment.
5.3.6 Pipeway summer toboggan runs shall be equipped with protective devices to prevent the toboggan from derailing or turning over.
