special requirements of vehicle coupler, plug and socket-outlet, supply equipment
structure requirement, performance requirement, overload protection and short circuit
protection, emergency stop, service conditions, repair, marking and description for
electric vehicle conductive charging system.
This part is also applicable to EV supply equipment which acquires energy from onsite
energy storage system (such as buffer battery).
Under the following special conditions, EV supply equipment shall provide additional
functions.
a) Where the EV supply equipment is located in dangerous zone where there is
flammable gas or steam, fuel or other combustible or explosive substance;
b) Where the EV supply equipment is designed as to be fixed at an altitude above
2 000 m.
This part is not applicable to safety requirements on maintenance of electric vehicle
conductive charging system, or to the on-board charging equipment as specified in
ISO 17409, or to power supply equipment of trolleybus, railway vehicle, and industrial
vehicle and mainly for non-road vehicle.

Summary | This Standard specifies the special requirements for electric vehicle conductive connection, the vehicle charging interface and the power supply interface classification system, general requirements, communications, electric shock protection, electric vehicles and power between devices, power supply units structural requirements, performance requirements, overload and short circuit protection, emergency stop, conditions of use, maintenance and identification and description. This Standard applies to electric vehicle conductive charging a non-car electric vehicle supply equipment, including AC charging, off-board charger, electric vehicle charging connector device, etc., which supply power to the maximum rated voltage 1000V AC or 1500V DC, rated maximum output voltage of 1000V AC or 1500V DC. This Standard also applies to obtaining energy from the field of energy storage systems (such as buffer battery pack, etc.) of electric vehicles powered devices. Under the following special conditions, the electric car powered equipment should be added additional features: a) electric vehicle supply equipment located in a hazardous area, the presence of flammable gases or vapors, fuel or other flammable or explosive substances in the region; b) design and installation of electric vehicle supply equipment at an altitude of 2000m or more. This Standard does not apply to electric vehicle conductive charging system maintain safety requirements, ISO 17409 does not apply to the provisions of vehicle charging equipment, does not apply to trolley buses, railway vehicles powered equipment, industrial vehicles, and is mainly used for off-road vehicles. |
