This Standard specifies the classification and codes, ordering content, dimensions, shape, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certification of high-carbon chromium bearing steels. This Standard applies to hot-rolled and forged round steels, round wire rods and cold- drawn round steels (bar or coil shape) of high-carbon chromium bearing steels for bearing rings and rollers (hereinafter referred to as steels). Steels or steel billets of other varieties or specifications can be supplied as agreed on by the supplier and the purchaser; the specific requirements shall be stated in the contract.
