Scope

This Standard stipulates the principle, sampling and sample preparation, reagents,
instruments, test procedures and test result of test for neutrality of benzole products.
This Standard is applicable to test for neutrality of benzole products, such as crude
benzole, which is recovered from coke oven gas; coking benzene, coking toluene and
coking xylene, which are obtained from light benzene through hydrogenation and
rectification; petroleum benzene, petroleum toluene and petroleum mixed xylene,
which are produced from petroleum fraction through catalytic reforming process, etc.

Summary This standard specifies the principle of neutrality test for benzene products, sample collection and preparation, reagents, instruments, test procedures and test results. This standard applies to coking benzene, coking toluene, coking xylene and petroleum distillates produced by catalytic reforming of crude benzene and light benzene recovered from coke oven gas by hydrogenation and rectification. Neutrality test for mixed benzene products such as xylene.
