Putty film flexibility assay
This Standard applies to the determination of paste paint or putty consistency. TAKE
quantitative volume od sample; at a fixed pressure, after a certain time, EXPRESS it
by the diameter of flow-spread of the sample.
1 General provisions
Materials and equipment
Pump. pump’s sheath is made of spinned round iron; the inner diameter is 29.7 mm;
the depth is 29 mm; the volume is 20.07 mL; pump’s piston is exactly inserted into the
sheath (see Figure 1);
Glass plate. both width and length are 20 cm; the thickness is 0.6 cm; on the plated, it
is engraved with circles of which the diameter is 5 ~ 16 cm;
Weight. made of iron, 2 kg;
Paint knife;
Weighing meter.
2 Test method
Fully FILL the pump with sample (without leaving any gaps); then USE pump’s piston
to press out the sample, as shown in Figure 1.
