This standard adopts, through modification, ASTM B 85-03 ?€?Standard
specification for aluminum-alloy die castings?€?. As compared with ASTM B 85- 03, this standard has the following differences in the main technical contents. - It made large editorial changes in the structure;
- It did not adopt the reference documents in clause 2 of ASTM B 85-03, but adopted the relevant Chinese standards;
- It did not adopt the finished product dimensional tolerance and performance requirements of casting after processing in clauses 10 and 11 of ASTM B 85-03;
- It did not adopt the acceptance criteria for casting raw materials in Appendix A of ASTM B 85-03;
- It added Appendix B and Appendix C.
This standard replaces GB/T 15114-1994 ?€?Aluminum alloy die castings?€?.
As compared with GB/T 15114-1994, the main technical contents of this
standard are as follows.
- ADD the chemical composition table for casting materials;
- ADD the material grade YZAlSi10Mg (YL101), DELETE the material grade
YZAlSi12Cu2 (YL108);
- MODIFY the acceptance requirements for mechanical properties;
- ADD the reference value for mechanical properties of die castings in
Appendix A;
- ADD the additional amount when the line size is affected by the parting surface in Appendix B;
- ADD the additional amount when the line size is affected by the active part of the mold.
Appendix A, Appendix B, Appendix C and Appendix D of this standard are
informative appendixes.
This standard was proposed by the China Machinery Industry Federation.
This standard shall be under the jurisdiction of the National Foundry
Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC 54).

1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements, quality assurance, test methods and inspection rules, delivery, packaging, storage and transportation requirements of aluminum alloy die castings.
This standard applies to aluminum alloy die castings.

3 Technical requirements
3.1 Chemical composition
The chemical composition of the die casting shall comply with the requirements of Table 1.
the acceptance criteria agreed by the supplier and the purchaser.
3.6.3 Under the condition that the use of die castings is not affected, the supplier may infiltrate, repair and deform the die castings with the consent of the purchaser.
4 Quality assurance
4.1 When both the supplier and the purchaser have specified in the contract or agreement, the supplier shall be responsible for all the tests and inspection items specified in the contract. When there is no provision in the contract or agreement, the supplier may use its appropriate means to carry out the tests and requirements specified in this standard with the consent of the purchaser. The purchaser has the right to inspect any test and inspection items in the standard, and the quality criteria shall be based on the agreement between the supplier and the purchaser.
4.2 In accordance with the characteristics of die casting production, it is specified that one inspection batch refers to the production volume of one shift of each die casting equipment under normal operating conditions. Any
significant change in equipment, die, and operational continuity shall be considered the beginning of a new batch.
The supplier shall randomly or statistically sample and test each batch of die castings to determine whether they meet the requirements of all technical requirements or drawings. The test results shall be recorded.
5 Inspection methods and rules
5.1 Chemical composition
5.1.1 The chemical composition test methods are respectively in accordance with GB/T 20975.3 ~ 20975.5, GB/T 20975.7, GB/T 20975.8, GB/T 20975.10 ~ 20975.12, GB/T 20975.14 and GB/T 20975.16. Other methods are allowed
under the condition of ensuring the accuracy of the analysis, the chemical composition shall meet the requirements in Table 1.
In order to prevent the occurrence of disputes, the analysis method needs to be agreed upon by the supplier and the purchaser.
5.1.2 Frequency of inspection of chemical composition. One set per furnace or shift. If there are special requirements, it is agreed by both the supplier and the purchaser.
