GB/T 14986 Soft Magnetic Alloys is divided into five parts as follows.
-- Part 1. general requirements;
-- Part 2. iron-nickel alloys;
-- Part 3. iron-cobalt alloys;
-- Part 4. iron-chrome alloys;
-- Part 5. iron-aluminum alloy.
This is the third part of GB/T 14986.
This Part is drafted in accordance with stipulations in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Part is drafted as a replacement of iron-cobalt alloys part in GB/T 14986-2008
High Saturation Magnetic Induction Magnetic Compensate Alloys Depending on
Temperature Variation Corrosion-resisting Iron-aluminum Permanent Permeability Soft
Magnetic Alloys.
In comparison with GB/T 14986-2008, there are several main technical changes as
follows.
-- Two trademarks 1J21 and 1J27, and relevant technical requirements are newly
added (refer to 7.1 and 7.4; 6.1 and 6.4 in Version 2008);
-- The stipulations of chemical compositions P and S in 1J22 become more rigorous;
the stipulation that residual element Cr shall be ≤ 0.20% is added (refer to Table
3; Table 10 in Version 2008);
-- The magnetic performance (B800, B1600, B2400) of 1J22 cold-rolled strip is enhanced,
the magnetic performance (B1600, Hc) of cold-drawn wire, hot-rolled flat material
and hot-rolled (wrought) bar is enhanced (refer to Table 5; Table 11 in Version
2008);
-- The stipulations of surface quality of cold-rolled strip become more rigorous (refer
to 7.6; 7.1 in Version 2008);
-- The fundamental physical parameters of alloys and the typical performance value
of alloy materials are added as a supplement (refer to Appendix B; Appendix B
in Version 2008).

1 Scope
This Part in GB/T 14986 specifies the terms, definitions, classification, content of order,

packaging, mark and quality certificate of high saturation magnetic induction, high
magnetostriction coefficient 1J21, 1J22 and 1J27 iron-cobalt soft magnetic alloy.
This Part is applicable to cold-rolled strip, cold-drawn wire, hot-rolled flat material and
hot-rolled (wrought) bar (hereinafter referred to as alloys) of 1J21, 1J22 and 1J27 iron-

4 Classification
In accordance with cobalt content, iron-cobalt alloys shall be classified into the
following three types.
a) F1. cobalt content. 49.0% ~ 51.0%; vanadium content. 0.8% ~ 2.0%;
b) F2. cobalt content. 34.5% ~ 36%;
c) F3. cobalt content. 26.5% ~ 28.5%.
NOTE. iron-cobalt alloys is also known as “iron-cobalt vanadium alloys” in some
publications.

3 Terms and Definitions
Terms and definitions provided in GB/T 14986.1-2018 are applicable to this Standard.
4 Classification
In accordance with cobalt content, iron-cobalt alloys shall be classified into the
following three types.
a) F1. cobalt content. 49.0% ~ 51.0%; vanadium content. 0.8% ~ 2.0%;
b) F2. cobalt content. 34.5% ~ 36%;
c) F3. cobalt content. 26.5% ~ 28.5%.
NOTE. iron-cobalt alloys is also known as “iron-cobalt vanadium alloys” in some
publications.
