Scope
This Part defines and classifies typical surface imperfections that can impair thefunction of the seals and is intended as a convenience for purchasers and
manufacturers in their discussions concerning the importance of these
imperfections in different applications.
This Part describes seals utilizing elastomeric sealing elements (hereinafter
referred to as seals). They are normally considered suitable for use only at low
pressures (air side pressure is atmospheric pressure; liquid side pressure is
higher than atmospheric pressure by 0 kPa ~ 30 kPa).

Summary | This standard specifies the type of rotary shaft lip seal element is a ring of elastomeric material appearance of defects. These cosmetic imperfections may diminish the role of seals. Its purpose is to facilitate the manufacturers and users to explore the impact of these defects on the ring in different contexts of use. This standard applies to the sealing element low pressure (air side pressure was atmospheric pressure, the liquid-side pressure is higher than atmospheric pressure 0 kPa ~ 30 kPa) under the use of rotary shaft lip seals elastomer (hereinafter referred to as seal). |
