1 Scope
This part of GB/T 13025 specifies the method for the determination of the
whiteness of edible salt and industrial salt in the salt industry.
This part is applicable to the determination of the whiteness of edible salt and
industrial salt in salt industry.
2 Normative references
The provisions in following documents become the provisions of this part
through reference in this part of GB/T 13025. For the dated references, the
subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) or revisions do not apply to
this Standard; however, parties who reach an agreement based on this
Standard are encouraged to study if the latest versions of these documents are
applicable. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced
document applies.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this part of GB/T 13024.
3.1
Whiteness
It refers to the whiteness degree that characterizes the color of an object.
The greater the whiteness value, the greater the degree of whiteness.
The whiteness value of perfect reflecting diffuser (PRD) is 100.
