3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions are applicable to this Standard.
3.1 standard temperature
Standard temperature is the temperature used when measuring in or out of its nominal volume
(capacity), which is set to 20 C.
3.2 capacity
At 20 C, the volume of water at 20 C contained when reaching the scale mark, expressed in
(mL).
3.3 curved liquid surface setting
Curved liquid surface setting means the lowest point of the curved liquid surface is tangent to
the horizontal plane of the upper edge of the graduation line. The line of sight is on the same
level as the upper edge of the graduation line.
4 Specification Series and Accuracy Grades
4.1 Product Specifications
1 mL, 2 mL, 3 mL, 5 mL, 10 mL, 15 mL, 20 mL, 25 mL, 50 mL and 100 mL.
4.2 Accuracy Grades
Grade-A and Grade-B.
5 Technical Requirements
5.1 Structure
5.1.1 Structural composition
The one-mark pipette consists of a straw, a reservoir and a liquid-flowing tube. These 3 parts
are all straight-shaped and on the same axis. The structural composition of the one-mark pipette
is shown in Figure 1. 1 mL and 2 mL Grade-B one-mark pipettes can be similar straight-shaped
tubes or bubble-shaped tubes with a larger capacity. If they are bubble-shaped, they shall be
approximately spherical and located between the pipettes and the nominal capacity line.
The products of the same variety and specification, and delivered at the same time constitute
one batch.
7.2.3 Inspection implementation and inspection results
Sampling inspection shall be carried out by the manufacturer in accordance with the exit-factory
inspection items in Table 7. Only batch of products that are qualified in the inspection can be
allowed to exit the factory, and a certificate of conformity shall be attached when exiting the
factory.
8 Marking, Packaging, Transportation and Storage
8.1 Marking
8.1.1 Product marking
The following markings shall be securely marked on each one-mark pipette:
a) Manufacturer’s trademark;
b) Standard temperature “20 C”;
c) Figure of nominal capacity and capacity unit “mL”;
d) Grade symbol “A” or “B”;
e) Exit symbol “Ex”.
8.1.2 Packaging marking
The following markings shall be securely marked on the packaging box:
a) There shall be pictorial markings for handling of goods “HANDLE WITH CARE”
and “KEEP DRY”;
b) Product name, specifications, quantity, net weight, gross weight and volume;
c) Manufacturer’s name, registered trademark and production date;
d) Manufacturer’s address and telephone number.
8.2 Packaging
8.2.1 Inner packaging
Cartons or plastic bags shall be used, and there shall be a certificate of conformity, which shall
indicate the product name, specifications and quantity. Quantities are in multiples of 10. Fillers
such as paper scraps and foam plastics shall not be used.
