Minimum Stable Speed Test Method for Motor Vehicles
1 Scope
This standard specifies the minimum stable speed test method for motor vehicles.
This standard is applicable to all kinds of motor vehicles. Automobile train may be
implemented by reference to this standard.
2 Normative References
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this
document. For dated reference, subsequent amendments (excluding corrigendum) or

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
Minimum stable speed
It refers to the minimum speed at which motor vehicles can travel steadily; this speed
can ensure the motor not stalled, transmitting mechanism not vibrated, motor vehicle
in steady and continuous acceleration, and the corresponding engine speed not
declined.
4. Test conditions
4.1 Measuring instruments
not be declined.
5.3 If the motor vehicle fails to meet those specified in Article 5.2, the stable speed
of the motor vehicle in 5.1 shall be increased properly, and repeat the test until the
minimum stable speed that meets those specified in Article 5.2 is found.
5.4 The testing shall be carried out back and force at least each 1 time.
5.5 The clutch shall not be cut off, so as to maintain the motor vehicle in stable
travelling; or the clutch shall not be made slipping in testing; and gear-shift is not
allowed.
6 Test Results
6.1 Arithmetic average of the actual measurement speed shall be taken as the
minimum stable speed in this gear position of this motor vehicle.
6.2 The test record shall be filled in the Table of Appendix A.
