GB/T 12428-2005: Laden mass calculating method for buses

This Standard specifies the average calculating mass of every member of the bus as well as his/her hand baggage and carry-on baggage, the calculating methods for the effective area occupied by each standing passenger, allowable baggage mass per unit of baggage compartment volume and per unit of roof rack area, as well as the number of occupants and passenger baggage laden mass and the maximum design laden mass of bus.

Foreword
The modification of this Standard mainly referred to the mandatory bus
instruction, which was issued on November 20, 2001 by the European Union, 2001/85/EC "Special provisions for vehicles used for the carriage of passengers comprising more than eight seats in addition to the driver's seat" as well as ECE R36, R52, R107 and related content in standards of ten countries in Europe and America. Considering the characteristics of China's human body and
relevant standards, it has been adjusted appropriately.
Compared with GB/T 12428-1990, the main changes and differences in this Standard are as follows.
- the application scope of this Standard is M2, M3 buses;
- added and deleted normative references;
- added terms and definitions;
- modified the average calculation mass of each occupant and the height of the passenger standing area [Clause 5 and 7.2.8 of the previous edition, Clause 4 and C in 3.5 of this Edition];
- deleted the calculation equation for loadable goods; added the calculation equation for the maximum design laden mass of passenger bag loading
baggage and bus;
- all symbols in this Standard are consistent with relevant international standards.
This Standard replaces GB/T 12428-1990 Laden mass calculation of buses. This Standard was proposed by Ministry of Communications of the People's Republic of China.
This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Automobile of Standardization Administration of China.

Laden mass calculating method for buses
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the average calculating mass of every member of the bus as well as his/her hand baggage and carry-on baggage, the calculating methods for the effective area occupied by each standing passenger, allowable baggage mass per unit of baggage compartment volume and per unit of roof rack area, as well as the number of occupants and passenger baggage laden mass and the maximum design laden mass of bus.
This Standard is applicable to M2, M3 buses. Other vehicles shall refer to this Standard for the implementation.
2 Normative references
The following standards contain the provisions which, through reference in this Standard, constitute the provisions of this Standard. For dated references, subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) or revisions do not apply to this Standard. However, the parties who enter into agreement based on this Standard are encouraged to investigate whether the latest versions of these documents are applicable. 3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions defined in GB/T 3730.1-2001, GB/T 3730.2-1996 and the followings apply.
3.1 passengers and crew
a general name of passengers, drivers and team members on bus
3.2 passengers
b) the area in front of the vertical plane passing through the center of the seat surface and the center of the exterior mirror installed on the other side of the vehicle (non-driver seat side) when the driver's seat is adjusted to the last position;
c) the area at the rear axle and the area of which the net height above the lower floor of the following passage and double-decker bus is less than 1770 mm, all area of which the net height in the bus is less than 1850 mm (excluding armrests);
d) the area of which the floor slope exceeds the allowable value of the relevant standard;
e) the area of which the protrusion on the floor is higher than 8 mm and cannot accommodate 400mm x 300mm rectangles;
f) except stepping at the door, any stepping area with a depth of less than 300 mm;
g) the area of all areas where standing passengers cannot enter when all seats (excluding folding seats) are full;
h) the upper double-deck bus area;
i) the area of space occupied by wheelchair area;
j) the area of other areas not allowed to stand on bus.
