1 Scope
This Standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules,
marks, packaging, shipping, storage, quality certificates and order (or
contract) of copper strips for cables.
This Standard is applicable to copper strips used to produce communication
cable products.

3.7 Surface quality
3.7.1 The surface of the strip shall be smooth and clean. The end face shall
not have oxidative discoloration while not allowing any defect that impacts on
the use.
3.7.2 Each roll of strips shall be lined, and shall be tightened, rolled
together.
4 Test method
4.1 Chemical composition
The chemical composition analysis of the strip shall be carried out in
accordance with the provisions of GB/T 5121 (all parts) or YS/T 482. The
arbitration shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 5121
(all parts).
4.2 Dimension and its allowable deviation
The dimension of the strip shall be tested in accordance with the provisions of
GB/T 26303.3.
4.3 Mechanical properties
The tensile test of the strip shall be carried out in accordance with the
provisions of GB/T 228.1-2010. The sample number is P02 in Annex B of
GB/T 228.1-2010. The Vickers hardness test shall be in accordance with the
provisions of GB/T 4340.1.
4.4 Grain size
The grain size of the strip shall be tested according to YS/T 347.
4.5 Electrical performance
The electrical performance of the strip shall be tested in accordance with the
provisions of GB/T 351 or YS/T 478. The arbitration test shall be conducted in
accordance with the provisions of GB/T 351.

5.5 Determination of inspection results
5.5.1 When the chemical composition is unqualified, the batch shall be
determined as unqualified.
5.5.2 When the dimensions as well as allowable deviations and surface
quality are unqualified, this roll of strips shall be determined as unqualified.
5.5.3 When a sample in the test results of the tensile test, Vickers
hardness test, grain size test and electrical performance test fails, it shall take
sample twice the original sample from the batch of strips (including the
original unqualified roll) for re-test. If the re-test results are qualified, this
batch of strips shall be determined as qualified. If the sample in the re-test
results still fail, this batch of strips shall be determined as unqualified. Or it
shall be inspected roll by roll by the supplier. It shall only submit the qualified
products for delivery.
6 Mark, packaging, transport, storage and quality
certificate
The product’s mark, packaging, transport, storage and quality certificate shall
comply with the provisions of GB/T 8888.
7 Order (or contract) content
The order (or contract) for the product listed in this Standard shall contain the
following information.
a) product name;
b) designation;
c) status;
