Foreword
GB/T 10357 consists of 8 parts.
- Part 1. Strength and durability of tables;
- Part 2. Stability of chairs and stools;
- Part 3. Strength and durability of chairs and stools;
- Part 4. Stability of storage units;
- Part 5. Strength and durability of storage units;
- Part 6. Strength and durability of beds;
- Part 7. Stability of tables;
- Part 8. Stability of chairs with tilting or reclining mechanisms when fully reclined, and rocking chairs.
This is the 4th part of GB/T 10357.
This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T
1.1-2009.
This Part replaces GB/T 10357.4-1989 Test of mechanical properties of
furniture; Stability of storage units.
Compared with GB/T 10357.4-1989, the main technical changes are as
follows.
- added general rules for stability test (see 4.1 of this Edition);
- added determination of center of gravity (see 4.2 of this Edition);
- modified shelf stability test (see 4.3 of this Edition, 5.3 of Edition 1989); - added non-loading stability when non-stationary storage unit moving
parts are closed (see 4.4.1 of this Edition);
- added loading stability when non-stationary storage unit moving parts are closed (see 4.5.1 of this Edition);
- modified loading stability when non-stationary storage unit moving parts are opened (see 4.5.2 of this Edition, 5.2 of Edition 1989);
- added stationary storage unit stability (see 4.6 of this Edition);

Part 4. Stability of storage units
1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 10357 specifies the test method for stability of storage units.
This Part is applicable to exit-factory products of all kinds of one-piece storage unit furniture.
2 General test conditions
2.1 Specimen
The specimen shall be the finished exit-factory product of the complete assembly and shall conform to the requirements of the product design
drawing.
All hardware connections shall be installed firmly before testing.
2.2 Precision
If there is no other requirement, the size measurement less than 1 m shall be to the nearest of ??0.5 mm; the size measurement greater than or equal to 1 m shall be to the nearest of ??1 mm; force measurement shall be to the nearest of ??5%; mass measurements shall be to the nearest of ??1%.
3 Test facility
3.1 Loading device
For the equipment that can perform a vertical or horizontal force to specimen according to the specified value or incremental value, its structure shall not impede the free tipping of the specimen.
3.2 Block
It refers to the device that is used to prevent the specimen from moving but cannot limit the specimen from tipping, of which its height is not greater than 12 mm. If the specimen structure is special, it shall allow the use of greater Use a block against the front foot of the specimen or the outside of the base. All storage areas shall be loaded in accordance with the provisions of Table 1. Turn all the doors open to 90??, drawers and other pushing pieces to 2/3, flaps or folded plates to level or near level. But all push-pull components and flappers / folded plates in the direction of the storage unit width shall be open. It shall only open the one that is most likely to make the storage unit tipped over among push-pull components in the same vertical line.

NOTE Total mass of movable parts = mass of moving parts + mass of support or storage of moving parts. The mass of support or storage of moving parts can be provided by the product manufacturer or calculated according to Table 2.
