1 Subject content and application scope
This Standard specifies the stability test method for single-piece storage units. This Standard applies to finished products of all kinds of single-piece storage units used in occasions such as homes, hotels, restaurants. Other storage units may also refer to this Standard.
2 Principle
This method is to simulate the ability of storage units to withstand the overturning force under the conditions of daily load or no load.
3 Test equipment and conditions
3.1 Vertical force application device
The vertical force application device can apply a vertical force, either at a given value or a gradually increasing value on the specimen. The structure shall not hinder free overturning of the specimen subjected to the force. If the applied force is given, a metal block can be used for loading
3.2 Horizontal force application device
The force application device that can apply a gradually increasing horizontal force to the specimen, such as a spring gauge.
3.3 Stops
The device used to prevent the specimen from sliding, but cannot limit the overturning of the specimen, no higher than 12 mm. If due to the special structure of the specimen, the use of higher stops is allowed, in which case the maximum height shall be just enough to prevent the specimen from sliding. 3.4 Ground requirements for the test location
The ground of the test location shall be level and flat.
3.5 Measurement accuracy
Unless otherwise specified, the measurement of size less than 1 m shall be accurate to ?? 0.5 mm, the measurement of size greater than or equal to 1 m shall be accurate to ?? 1 mm; the measurement of force shall be accurate to ?? 5 %.
4 Specimens
The specimen shall be a completely assembled finished product and shall meet the requirements of the product design drawings.
All hardware connectors shall be firmly installed before the test.
5 Test procedure
NOTE: All test loads in this Standard are expressed in force (N). In some cases, the test load can also be expressed by mass, and the value of mass in kilograms when converted is ten times the value of force in Newtons.
5.1 No-load stability test
Use stops to lean against the outer side of the front foot of the specimen, open all the sliding doors to 90 ??, pull out the two-thirds of the drawer, and open the door to the horizontal or near horizontal state. Record whether the specimen has a tendency of overturning.
5.2 Stability test with vertical loads on moveable parts
USE stops to lean against the outer side of the front foot of the specimen, OPEN the sliding doors, drawers, flap doors and other movable test parts in sequence according to the provisions of 5.1. APPLY a force to these parts vertically, and then gradually INCREASE it until at least one of the two relative feet lifts away from the ground. RECORD the actual force applied, in Newtons, to the nearest single digit.
The force application parts of sliding doors, drawers, flap doors and shelves are:
Sliding doors: the middle part of the upper edge of the door, 50 mm away from the edge of the side with a handle (see Figure 1);
Drawers: the middle part of the upper edge of the drawer panel (see Figure 2);
