Preface
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents"
Drafting is required.
This document replaces GB/T 8903-2018 "Steel Wire Ropes for Elevators". Compared with GB/T 8903-2018, except for structural adjustments and editorial
In addition to the modifications, the main technical changes are as follows.
--Added steel wire strength grade requirements (see 6.1.1);
--Added new varieties of steel-based composite core and solid polymer core (SPC) wire ropes including polymer coated steel core (EPIWRC)
(see 6.1.2);
--Changed the range of natural fiber core oil content, and refined the synthetic fiber core oil content and strand oil content according to the purpose of use.
Distinction (see 6.1.2, 5.1.2 of the.2018 edition);
--Added diameter deviation categories for steel core wire ropes (see 6.3.1);
--Changed the technical requirements for split wire (see 6.6, 5.2.12 of the.2018 edition);
--Changed the elastic elongation index of wire rope (see 6.7, 5.2.13 of the.2018 edition);
--Deleted the fatigue life test requirements (see 5.2.14 of the.2018 edition);
--Added the requirements for the measured unit length weight of suspension wire ropes and compensating wire ropes (see 6.8);
-- Changed the sampling and acceptance rules (see Chapter 8, Chapter 8 of the.2018 edition);
--Changed the diameter range of suspension wire rope (see Appendix A, Appendix A of the.2018 edition);
--Added reference weight of synthetic fiber core wire rope (see Appendix A);
--Added 3 new types of wire rope structures (see Table A.9 to Table A.11).

Elevator wire rope
1 Scope
This document specifies the classification and marking of carbon steel smooth or coated elevator wire ropes of different structures with nominal diameters of 6 mm to 38 mm.
record, ordering content, technical requirements, verification requirements and test methods, sampling and acceptance rules, and usage information and identification.
This document applies to suspension ropes for traction drive, hydraulic drive and forced drive elevators, and also to passenger ropes running between guide rails.
Compensation wire ropes and speed limiter wire ropes for elevators, freight elevators and utility elevators.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 8706 and the following apply to this document.
3.1
Single tensile rope
A wire rope in which the outer wires and inner wires of the outer strands have the same tensile strength grade (except for the center wire and filler wires).
3.2
Dual tensile rope
A wire rope in which the outer wires and inner wires of the outer strands have different tensile strength grades (except for the center wire and filler wires).
Example. 1370/1770 grade, the outer layer of the outer strand has an outer wire tensile strength grade of 1370 and the inner wire tensile strength grade of 1770.
