rolled plates and sheets
This Standard applies to cold-rolled plates [Translator note. to align with ISO
16162-2000 and Clause 3 of GB 708-2006, hereafter “plate” is indicated as
“sheet”] of which the width exceeds or equals to 600 mm, thickness is 0.2 ~ 5
mm, and cold-rolled sheets [Translator note. to align with ISO 16162-2000 and
Clause 3 of GB 708-2006, hereafter “sheet” is indicated as “strip”] of which the
thickness exceeds 3 mm. It is not applicable to narrow strips of which the direct
rolling width is less than 600 mm.
1 Classification and code
1.1 Classify according to edge state

1.2 Classify according to rolling precision

2 Definition
2.1 Sheets are flat, rectangle, which can be directly rolled or cut from wide
strip greater than 600 mm.
2.2 Strips refer to wide strip of which the width is not less than 600 mm, which
are delivered in coil-form.
3 Size
3.1 Thickness, width of sheet and strip, length of sheet shall comply with
provisions of Table 1.
3.2 Width of sheet and strip shall be any multiple-length of 10 mm. Length of
sheet is any multiple-length of 50 mm.
Calculate steel density in accordance with theoretical weight; carbon steel’s
density is 7.85 g/cm3. The density of other steels shall be in accordance with
other relevant standards.
Example for marking.
Designation is 20, size is 1.0 mm × 1000 mm × 1500 mm, surface mass group
is II, elongation level is S, it shall be marked as.
