This Standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules for photometric characteristics of front and rear position lamps, end-outline marker lamps and stop lamps for motor vehicles and their trailers. This Standard is applicable to front and rear position lamps, end-outline marker lamps and stop lamps used by categories M, N and O motor vehicles and their trailers.

1 Scope
This Standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods and
inspection rules for photometric characteristics of front and rear position lamps, end-outline marker lamps and stop lamps for motor vehicles and their trailers. This Standard is applicable to front and rear position lamps, end-outline marker lamps and stop lamps used by categories M, N and O motor vehicles and their trailers.
In this Standard, the above various signal lights are also called as the device. 2 Normative references

3.6 single lamp
Single lamp has the following composition methods:
a) part of a device or device, with an optical signal function; one or more light sources and a viewing surface on the reference axis; the viewing surface may be continuous or composed of two or more separate parts; if the
viewing surface is not continuous, it shall be installed in one of the
following ways:
1) the sum of the projected surfaces of the portions in the direction of the reference axis on the plane perpendicular to the reference axis after
installation, is not less than 60% of the minimum quadrilateral area
surrounding the projected surface projection; or
2) measure perpendicular to the reference axis; the distance between two adjacent or similar parts is not more than 75mm.
b) or, the combination of two lamps marked ?€?D?€?, whether they are the same or not, shall have the same function; install in one of the following ways: 1) after installation, the projection of viewing surface of each part in the direction of the reference axis on a plane perpendicular to the reference axis, is not less than 60% of the minimum quadrilateral area
surrounding the projected surface projection; or
2) measure perpendicular to the reference axis; the distance between two adjacent or similar parts is not more than 75mm.
c) or, any interdependent lamp system that contains two or three
interdependent lamps of the same function shall be installed in one of the following ways:
1) the sum of the projected surfaces of the portions in the direction of the reference axis on the plane perpendicular to the reference axis after
installation, is not less than 60% of the minimum quadrilateral area
surrounding the projected surface projection; or
2) measure perpendicular to the reference axis; the distance between two adjacent or similar parts is not more than 75mm.
4 Different types of device
Device that differs in the following main aspects:
a) trademark name or trademark;
5.2.3.2 In the range shown in Figures 5 and 6, the light emitted by the various devices shall be uniform; that is, the light intensity measured in either direction within the range enclosed by the grid lines shall not be less than the minimum light intensity value in the directions around this direction.
5.2.3.3 The light intensity in either visible direction shall not exceed the maximum specified in Table 1.
5.2.3.4 For rear position lamps and/or end-outline marker lamps mixed with stop lamps, H-H down 5?? plane and below, the allowable light intensity is 60 cd. 5.2.3.5 In the range of 5.2.1, the light intensity of the front position lamps, rear position lamps and end-outline marker lamps shall be not less than 0.05 cd. 5.2.3.6 In the range of 5.2.1, the light intensity of category S1 and category S3 stop lamps shall be not less than 0.3 cd. The light intensity of the highest light intensity level of category S2 and category S4 shall be not less than 0.3 cd. The light intensity of the lowest light intensity level shall be not less than 0.07 cd. 5.2.3.7 For rear position lamps and/or end-outline marker lamps mixed with stop lamps, rear position lamps or end-outline marker lamps that both lamps are lit at the same time and lit separately, within the range of 5?? above and below H-H and 10?? around V-V, the measured light intensity ratio shall be at least 5:1. If one or both of the above-mentioned hybrid lamps contains more than one light source and is defined as a single lamp, the measurement shall take into account all light sources.
5.2.4 Combination of two lamps or multiple lamps
5.2.4.1 The total light intensity does not exceed the maximum light intensity of a single lamp.
5.2.4.2 A combination of two lamps marked ?€?D?€? of the same function is
considered a single lamp.
5.2.4.3 For an interdependent lamp system that is partially mounted on a fixed part and partially mounted on a movable part:
a) All systems shall meet the requirements of a single lamp;
b) For rear position lamps, the entire interdependent lamp system shall also meet the requirements of the device single lamp at all normal use
positions of the movable parts. However, the inner photometric
characteristics test value does not have to meet the requirements of
5.2.3.5.
5.2.5 Single lamp containing more than one light source

5.3.2 The chromaticity characteristics of various light colors shall meet the requirements of GB 4785. Outside the angular range described in 5.2.1, the light color shall not change significantly.
6 Test methods
6.1 Test chamber, device and equipment requirements
6.1.1 In accordance with the provisions of GB 4599.
6.1.2 The measuring distance of the photometric characteristics shall ensure the application of the inverse square law of distance in photometry.
6.1.3 Observed from the center of the device, the angle of the light receiver is between 10' and 1??.
6.1.4 The angular deviation of each measurement direction shall be no more than 15'.
6.1.5 The initial measurement position of the device shall be determined in accordance with the manufacturer's specified reference axis and reference center.
6.2 Test requirements
6.2.1 For all lamps with non-replaceable light sources (filament bulbs and others), the light source in the lamp shall be used. Test at 6.75V, 13.5V or 28.0V respectively.
6.2.2 Standard light source shall be used for devices that do not have a replaceable light source that is powered by an electric light source control or a variable light intensity control.
a) For filament bulbs, measurements shall be made at a reference flux of approximately 13.5V for this type of filament bulb.
b) For LED sources, the test value at 6.75V, 13.5V or 28.0V shall be
corrected. The correction factor is the ratio of the target luminous flux to the luminous flux at the above test voltage.
6.2.3 For devices equipped with an electric light source control or variable light intensity control, the photometric measurement shall be performed according to the manufacturer's instructions.
a) When an electric light source control or variable light intensity control is 7.1.1.1 A drawing sufficient to identify the type of device, indicating all geometrical positions installed on the vehicle (in the case of category S3 and category S4 stop lamps, relative to the rear window), including the reference axis (H = 0??, V = 0??), reference center; information of interdependent lamp system (if any).
7.1.1.2 A concise technical specification, indicating:
a) the function that needs to pass type inspection device, whether it is one of the same types of device;
b) is the light emitted by end-outline marker lamp red or white;
c) does the device produce stable light intensity or variable light intensity; d) are category S3 and category S4 stop lamps installed in the car (in the rear window) or outside the car; for category S3 and category S4 stop
lamps installed in the car, the optical properties of the rear window
(transmittance, color, inclination, etc.) shall also be included;
e) if the device has different mounting positions or different mounting angles on the vehicle (e.g., relative to the reference axis of the vehicle reference plane, relative to the ground or the reference axis of the device itself), these different installations shall be noted in the technical description; f) type of light source used:
1) if using a filament bulb, provide the type listed in GB/T 15766.1 or ECE R37;
2) if using an LED source, provide the type it is listed in ECE R128;
3) if the light source module is used, its type and parameters can be
provided, including the specifications, size and photoelectric
parameters of the LED module, and the target luminous flux;
g) for devices with variable light intensity, corresponding data and system descriptions, as well as variable light intensity control functions and installation conditions shall be provided;
h) is it equipped with a work indicator or fault detection function during installation.
7.1.1.3 Provide corresponding samples, including:
a) 2 sample lamps (including light source); If the devices submitting the application are not exactly the same, but are symmetrical to each other, they shall be installed on the left and right sides of the vehicle; then the
