paper and board materials and their products
1 Scope
This standard applies to food contact paper and board materials and their
products.
This standard does not apply to the food contact materials and products made
from renewable cellulose film (cellophane).
2 Terms and definitions
2.1 Food contact paper and board materials and their products
It refers to, under the conditions of normal or foreseeable use, all kinds of
paper and board materials and their products expected to contact with food,
including waxed paper, pulp molding products and food processing and
cooking paper.
2.2 Pulp molding products
It refers to the products formed through such three-dimensional paper making
technologies as molding of the main raw material of pulp in accordance with
the shapes as required for product purposes.
3 Basic requirements
Food contact paper and board materials and their products shall comply with
the provisions of GB 4806.1.
4 Technical requirements
4.1 Raw material requirements
4.1.1 The raw materials used for the food contact materials and board
materials and their products shall not be harmful to human health. Fiber raw
materials shall be based on plant fiber, AND the synthetic fiber raw materials
contained shall comply with the requirements of GB 4806.6.
Appendix A
Preparation of water extraction test solution
A.1 Principles
Depending on the intended use of paper and board materials and their
products, USE the cold water or hot water of certain temperature to extract the
cut or teared sample, AND the test solution obtained is used for the
determination of the target analyte.
A.2 Reagent
Water.
Note. The water quality is determined in accordance with the determination
method of the target analyte.
A.3 Instruments and equipment
a) Balance, with the sensitivity of 0.01 g.
b) Triangular flask with cap, 500 mL.
c) Constant temperature water bath, which can control the temperature in
the range of 80 °C ± 2 °C.
d) Filtration device, with G4 glass sand core funnel and 500 mL filter bottle.
A.4 Sample preparation
MAKE the obtained paper and board sample into small pieces of about 1 cm2,
AND the quantity of sample shall be at least the number of samples required
by the target analyte determination method x 10. It shall wear clean gloves
during sample preparation to avoid hands from directly contacting sample.
A.5 Extraction
A.5.1 Sample weighing
WEIGH 10 g ± 0.1 g of the sample, accurate to 0.01 g. If necessary,
INCREASE the amount of sample, BUT it shall be not more than two times.
A.5.2 Hot water extraction
