This document specifies the general safety technical requirements and inspection rules for rotating electrical machines and describes the corresponding test methods. This document applies to the design, manufacture, inspection, certification and maintenance of all rotating electrical machines (including electric motors and generators, hereinafter referred to as the “electrical machines”) except for aerospace electrical machines and traction electrical machines. Other types of electrical machines can use this document as a reference.
