Scope

This clause of GB 4706.1-2005 is replaced by the following.
This Part of GB 4706 specifies the safety for commercial dispensing appliances and
vending machines of the household and similar electrical appliances.
This Part is applicable to the commercial dispensing appliances and vending machines
for preparation or delivery of food, drinks and consumer products, their rated voltage
being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances.
NOTE 101: Examples of appliances that are within the scope of this Part are:
– bulk tea or coffee brewing machines;
– cigarette vending machines;
– commercial liquid heaters;
– espresso coffee appliances;
– hot and cold beverage vending machines;
– hot water dispensers;
– ice cream and whipped cream dispensers;
– ice dispensers;
– newspaper, audio or video tape or disc vending machines;
– packaged food and drink vending machines;
– refrigerated merchandisers;
– coffee grinders.
Appliances may have more than one function.
