This standard specifies the minimum allowable values of energy efficiency, the evaluating values of energy conservation, test methods, and inspection rules for desktop microcomputers, all-in-one desktop microcomputers with display functions (referred to as all-in-one computers), and portable computers (the above are collectively referred to as microcomputers). This standard applies to general-purpose microcomputers, but not to workstations and industrial computers. This standard does not apply to microcomputers with two or more independent graphic display units, nor does it apply to microcomputers with a power supply rated power greater than 750W. This standard does not apply to portable computers and all-in-one computers with a display diagonal of less than 0.2946 m (11.6 inches).

1 Scope
This standard specifies the minimum allowable values of energy efficiency, the evaluating values of energy conservation, test methods, and inspection rules for desktop microcomputers, all-in-one desktop microcomputers with display functions (referred to as all-in-one computers), and portable computers (the above are collectively referred to as microcomputers).
This standard applies to general-purpose microcomputers, but not to workstations and industrial computers.
This standard does not apply to microcomputers with two or more independent graphic display units, nor does it apply to microcomputers with a power supply rated power greater than 750W.
This standard does not apply to portable computers and all-in-one computers with a display diagonal of less than 0.2946 m (11.6 inches).
2 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
2.1 off mode
A state in which a microcomputer is connected to the grid power supply and the power is lowest.
Note: The off mode of a microcomputer that is applicable to the Advanced Configuration and Power Management Interface (ACPI) corresponds to the S5 state in ACPI.
2.2 sleep mode
A state in which a microcomputer consumes less power without shutting down. This state can be entered by a user?€?s selection, and can also be entered automatically after the microcomputer does not work for a period of time.
Note: The sleep state of a microcomputer that is applicable to the Advanced Configuration and Power Management Interface (ACPI) is usually equivalent to the S3 state in ACPI. 4 Test and calculation method
4.1 Test method
The typical energy consumption of a microcomputer is tested according to the test method in Appendix A.
4.2 Calculation method
4.2.1 Calculation of typical energy consumption
The typical energy consumption of a microcomputer is calculated according to the formula (1):
Where:
Poff --- The power consumption of a microcomputer in the off state, in watts (W); Toff --- The percentage of time of a microcomputer in the off state in a year, obtained from Table 3;
Psleep --- The power consumption of a microcomputer in the sleep state, in watts (W); Tsleep --- The percentage of time in the sleep state of a microcomputer in a year, obtained from Table 3;
Pidle --- The power consumption of a microcomputer in the idle state, in watts (W); Tidle --- The percentage of time in the idle state of a microcomputer in a year, obtained from Table 3.
4.2.2 Calculation of additional function power consumption factors
The sum of the power consumption factors of the additional functions of a microcomputer (??Efa) can be determined by looking up Table 4.
Appendix A
(Normative)
Test method for the typical energy consumption of microcomputers
A.1 Test conditions
During the test, the ambient temperature shall be (15~35) ???, the relative humidity shall be (25~75)%, and the atmospheric pressure shall be (86~106) kPa; the test power supply shall be AC (220??2.2) V, and the power frequency shall be (50??1) Hz. The total harmonic distortion of the test power supply shall not be more than 2%. A.2 Test equipment
When a power meter is used to measure the active power of not more than 10 W, the measurement result shall be accurate to 0.01 W; when the active power is more than 10 W and less than or equal to 100 W, the measurement result shall be accurate to 0.1 W; when the active power is more than 100 W, the measurement result shall be accurate to 1 W.
A.3 Test methods
A.3.1 Settings of the microcomputer to be tested
The microcomputer to be tested is set up as follows:
a) The microcomputer to be tested shall be equipped with the standard keyboard, mouse, and other accessories. Desktop microcomputers and all-in-one computers that do not include accessories shall be equipped with a mouse and keyboard without additional features.
b) Desktop microcomputers (excluding all-in-one and portable computers) shall be equipped with an external display, and the energy consumption of the external display shall not be included in the energy consumption of the microcomputer to be tested.
c) Portable computers with a pointing stick, trackpad, or touch screen do not require a separate keyboard or mouse.
d) The portable computer shall be equipped with the standard external power supply, and the battery pack shall not be installed during the test. When the
microcomputer cannot work without a battery pack, the test shall be carried out with the battery fully charged.
e) The desktop background of the desktop microcomputer monitor shall be a fixed color bitmap [red, green and blue (RGB) values are 130, 130 and 130], and the brightness shall be set to the factory setting. Through the power management setting function, the screens of the portable computers and all-in-one computers shall be set to turn off within 1 minute after the computers enter the idle state. f) The preset time for the microcomputer to enter the sleep state shall be closed or set to 30 min to avoid the microcomputer from entering the sleep state during the idle state test.
g) The microcomputer shall be equipped with a supported operating system declared by the manufacturer.
A.3.2 Test for typical energy consumption
The typical energy consumption of a microcomputer is tested as follows: a) After the initial installation of the microcomputer to be tested is completed and connected to the active Ethernet, the wireless network module of the
microcomputer and the wireless transmission protocol module between the devices shall be closed. When the microcomputer can only provide wireless network access or the access of wireless transmission protocol between devices, only one active wireless access method shall be connected.
b) Connect the test equipment and the microcomputer to be tested, turn on the power supply of the test equipment and let it be in the specified test conditions. c) Start the microcomputer and wait for the operating system to be loaded completely. d) Record the basic data of the microcomputer, including the model, operating system name and version, processor type and speed, memory and its maximum capacity, type of graphics processing unit, etc.
e) Make sure that the microcomputer settings are the same as the factory configuration, and adjust the monitor settings to meet the test requirements of A.3.1 e).
f) Turn off the microcomputer.
g) Continuously record the active power and test time of the microcomputer in the off state; the test time shall be not less than 5 min, and the reading frequency shall be not less than 1 time/s; obtain the arithmetic mean Poff.
h) Turn on the microcomputer, after the microcomputer?€?s operating system is loaded
