Hygienic Requirements for Air Disinfectant
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the technical requirements, killing microorganism
requirements, safety requirements, use, test methods, labels and instruction manual,
and precautions for common disinfectants used for indoor air disinfection.
This Standard is applicable to indoor air disinfectants for the purpose of killing
microorganisms in the air, and can meet the requirements of disinfection.
This Standard is not applicable to disinfectants for the purpose of the disinfection of
objects in the laboratory, and have the function of air disinfection.
2 Normative References
The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For the
dated documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable to this
document; for the undated documents, only the latest version (including all the
amendments) are applicable to this document.
GB 1616 Hydrogen Peroxide for Industrial Use
GB 19104 Peracetic Acid Solution
Technical Standard for Disinfection (2002); Ministry of Health
Management Practices for Label and Instruction Book of Disinfection Products
(2005); Ministry of Health
3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 Air disinfection
Use disinfectant to kill pathogenic microorganisms suspended in the air in the closed
room, so as to achieve harmless treatment.
3.2 Air disinfectant
Formulation for killing pathogenic microorganisms in the air to achieve disinfection
requirements.
3.3 Aerosol sprayer
The sprayer that may occur the atomized particle diameter range below 50μm, of which
the atomized particles whose diameter is less than 20μm account for more than 90%,
and the spray flow rate is above 100mL/min.
3.4 Fumigation disinfection
Use the disinfectant gas to kill pathogenic microorganisms in closed spaces, so as to
achieve harmless treatment.
4 Technical Requirements for Common Disinfectants
4.1 Requirements of physical and chemical indicator
4.1.1 The physical and chemical indicators such as the content of active ingredients of
disinfectant, pH value, etc. shall satisfy the relevant standards of product quality.
Peracetic acid shall meet the requirements of GB 19104; while hydrogen peroxide shall
meet the requirements of GB 1616.
4.1.2 Stability requirements: the decline rate of effective composition for the liquid
disinfectant during the effective period of the product shall be ≤15%; the decline rate
of effective composition content for the solid disinfectant during the effective period of
the product shall be ≤10%.
4.1.3 Residues after disinfection and residual toxicity in the environment shall meet the
requirements of relevant national standards and regulations.
4.1.4 During the disinfection process, combustion and explosion are not easy to occur.
4.2 Requirements for killing microorganisms
4.2.1 In the laboratory sterilization test or disinfection simulation field test, when using
aerosol spray method for disinfection, the dosage of disinfectant shall be ≤10mL/m3.
Under the conditions of 20°C~25°C, relative humidity of 50%~70%, the effect is ≤1h,
then the killing rate of Staphylococcus albicans in the air shall be ≥99.9%.
4.2.2 Under the natural conditions on site, when using aerosol spray method for
disinfection, the dosage of disinfectant shall be ≤10mL/m3. When the effect is ≤1h, the
decay rate of natural bacteria in the air shall be ≥90.0%.
