This Standard was formulated so as to ensure the safety of toothpaste products, to prevent the health hazards to consumers due to improper use of raw material.

This Standard is not equivalent to the European Cosmetic Directive (76/768/EEC).
The Standard, in the formulation process, took full account with the existing national laws and regulations, standards, consistency issues, under the preconditions that it was consistent with the present laws, regulations and standards of toothpaste, it referred to regulations of Chinese cosmetics, food, health food, pharmaceutical and other related industries.
This Standard was proposed by China Light Industry Association.
This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Toothpaste Wax Products of Standardization Administration of China.
Main drafters of this Standard: Jiang Yifan, Sun Dongfang.
