Proportional Value Solenoids
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, symbols, classifications,
characteristics, relevant product information, normal use, installation and
transportation conditions, structure and performance requirements, and tests of
proportional valves solenoids (hereinafter referred to as proportional solenoids).
This Standard is applicable to various proportional valve solenoids that use hydraulic
oil as the working medium. Other proportional valve solenoids can also be
implemented as a reference.

range of the steady-state setting value.
3.1.15 Fall time
The time that is required from the occurrence of a negative step signal to when the
corresponding control output decays to 5% of the initial value.
3.1.16 Amplitude-frequency wide
Under the condition that the peak-to-peak value of the input sinusoidal control electric
signal remains constant, the frequency when the ratio of the control output force
change amplitude to the control output force amplitude under specified low frequency
(for instance, 0.5Hz) is attenuated to -3dB, which is expressed by f-3dB, in Hertz (Hz).
3.1.17 Phase-frequency wide
The frequency corresponding to when the control output force lags the sinusoidal
control input current by 90°, which is expressed by f-90°, in Hertz (Hz).
3.2 Symbols
The following symbols are applicable to this document.
Ia – starting current;
Il – linearity current;
In – rated current;
Fn – rated force;
Ig – maximum current;
ΔL – linear degree
Hin – current hysteresis
ΔR – repeatability precision;
Ymn – work stroke;
Hfn – force hysteresis;

6.2 Marking
The markings of items a) and b) in 6.1 shall be marked on the nameplate of the
proportional solenoid; and the parameters of item f) shall be marked on the nameplate
or proportional solenoid; the parameters of the remaining items shall be marked on the
nameplate or on the proportional solenoid, or included in the documents published by
the manufacturer to obtain complete information from the manufacturer. The mark
should be clear, not easy to wear out and easy to identify; and should not be marked
on movable parts.
6.3 Instructions for installation, operation and maintenance
The manufacturer shall specify the installation, operation and maintenance conditions
of the proportional solenoid during operation and after failure in its documents (such
as instruction manual) or samples (if any).
If necessary, the proper and correct method of installation, transportation and operation
of the proportional solenoid shall be specified in the transportation, installation and
operation manual of the proportional solenoid.
6.4 Packaging
6.4.1 Packaging box
The packaging box mark shall include the following:
a) The name or trademark of the manufacturer;
b) The name and model of the proportional solenoid;
c) Rated force and rated stroke, etc.
6.4.2 Packaging container
The packaging container of the proportional solenoid shall be tight; have moisture-
proof and dust-proof capabilities; and meet transportation requirements. There shall
be packing list, instruction manual, etc. in the packaging container. The gross weight
of each container shall not exceed 50 kg. The outer wall of the packaging container
shall have obvious and lasting markings, which include:
a) The name, address or trademark of the manufacturer;
b) The model and name of the product;
c) the quantity of products;
d) External dimension (length × width × height) and gross weight of the packaging
container;
e) The name and address of the receiving organization;
f) It is marked with words or signs such as "fragile items", "fear of rain", "upward",
"packing year and month".
Other requirements shall also comply with the provisions of GB/T 13384-2008.
7 Normal Use, Installation and Transportation
Conditions
7.1 Normal use conditions
7.1.1 Ambient air temperature
The ambient air temperature shall not exceed 40°C, and its average temperature within
24h shall not exceed 35°C.
The lower limit of the ambient air temperature shall be -5°C.
NOTE: The proportional solenoid that is used when the ambient air temperature is higher than
40°C or lower than -5°C shall be designed and used according to the relevant product standards
(if applicable) or the agreement between the manufacturer and the user. The data given in the
manufacturer's sample may replace the above agreement.
7.1.2 Altitude
The altitude of the installation site shall not exceed 2000 m.
NOTE: For proportional solenoid that is used at an altitude higher than 2000 m, the cooling
effect of air and the decrease of dielectric strength need to be considered; and it shall be
designed and used according to the agreement between the manufacturer and the user.
7.1.3 Atmospheric conditions
7.1.3.1 Humidity
When the maximum temperature is 40°C, the relative humidity of the air shall not
exceed 50%; and higher relative humidity is allowed at lower temperatures, such as
90% at 20°C. Special measur...
