Scope

This Standard specifies the contents such as instruments, determination procedures,
processing of determination results that are required for the determination of apparent
density of granular activated carbon from coal.
This Standard applies to the determination of apparent density of granular activated
carbon from coal (hereinafter referred to as activated carbon).

3  Summary of method
Activated carbon falls into a measuring cylinder through vibration. Weigh the mass of 100
mL of activated carbon. Calculate the apparent density.
4  Instruments and devices
4.1 Apparent density measuring device (see Figure 1).
4.2 Vibrating sieve machine. Revolving speed is 280 r/min ~ 320 r/min.
Knocking speed is 140 beats/min ~ 160 beats/min.
