Foreword
This Standard serves as a replacement of GB 8537-2008 Drinking Natural Mineral
Water.
In comparison with GB 8537-2008, this Standard has the following main changes.

---The sensory requirements are modified;
---The boundary indexes are modified;
---The limit indexes are modified;
---The microbial limit is modified;
---Some requirements in the clause of marking are deleted.

1 Scope
This Standard is applicable to drinking natural mineral water.
2 Terms and Definitions
2.1 Drinking Natural Mineral Water
Drinking natural mineral water refers to water, which naturally surges out from deep
underground or is gathered through well drilling; which contains a certain amount of
mineral substances, trace elements or other ingredients; which is uncontaminated in a
certain area or adopts precautionary measures to prevent from contamination. Under
normal circumstance, within a natural periodic fluctuation range, its dynamic indexes,
such as chemical composition, flow and water temperature, are relatively stable.
2.1.1 Gas-containing natural mineral water
Gas containing natural mineral water refers to natural mineral water, which allows the
elimination of unstable components through the methods of aeration, decantation and
filtration in the processing technology, allows recycle and filling of homogenous carbon
dioxide on the premise of not changing the basic characteristics and main component
content of drinking natural mineral water. After packaging, at normal temperature and
pressure, there shall be visible natural release and bubbles generated by
homogeneous carbon dioxide.
2.1.2 Gas-filled natural mineral water
Gas-filled natural mineral water refers to natural mineral water, which allows the
elimination of unstable components through the method of aeration, decantation and
filtration in the processing technology, fills in food additive carbon dioxide to generate
bubbles on the premise of not changing the basic characteristics and main component
content of drinking natural mineral water.
2.1.3 Gasless natural mineral water
Gasless natural mineral water refers to natural mineral water, which allows the
elimination of unstable components through the method of aeration, decantation and
filtration in the processing technology on the premise of not changing the basic
characteristics and main component content of drinking natural mineral water. After
packaging, its free carbon dioxide content shall not exceed carbon dioxide content that
