Chemical Composition of Wrought
Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys Designation
This Standard applies to the chemical composition of aluminium and aluminium alloys
semi-finished products (including plate, tube, bar, section, wire, strip, foil and forging)
manufactured by press working.
1 The chemical composition of wrought aluminium and aluminium alloys
shall be as specified in the following table.
2 For the analysis of chemical composition of all products, samples shall
be taken when casting is stabilized. A second analysis is allowed; the
result of the second analysis is deemed the final basis for evaluation.
The samples shall be stored for 1 year for review.
3 The significant digits of all analyzed values in the report of chemical
composition shall be consistent with the significant digits of
corresponding boundary values in the composition table. When the
report is filled in, the rules of rounding off numbers shall be as specified
in Annex C of GB 1.1-81, Directives for Standardization – Part 1. General
Rules for Drafting Standards.
4 See Annex A for the abolished alloys.
