Foreword
This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaces GB/T 8163-2008 “Seamless steel tubes for liquid service”. Compared with GB/T 8163-2008, the main technical changes are as follows.
modified the outer diameter and wall thickness tolerance of cold drawn (rolled) seamless steel pipe (see 4.2.1 and 4.2.3 of this Edition, 4.2.1 and
4.2.3 of Edition 2008);
modified the allowable deviation of wall thickness of hot expanded steel pipe (see 4.2.2 of this Edition, 4.2.2 of Edition 2008);
modified the normal length range and length deviation requirements of steel pipe (see 4.3.1 and 4.3.3.2 of this Edition, 4.3.1 and 4.3.3.2 of Edition 2008);
-deleted the designation of Q295 and relative technical requirements (see
5.1.1 of Edition 2008);
-added chemical composition and carbon equivalent of each designation of low alloy high strength structural steel (see 5.1.3 of this Edition);
- added 10, 20 steel chemical composition table (see 5.1.2);
deleted hot extruded steel pipe manufacturing method (see 5.2.3 of Edition 2008);
deleted that the yield strength of each designation of steel pipe is graded according to the wall thickness of the steel pipe (see 5.4.1 of Edition 2008);
-added the flattening test requirements of designation of Q390 (see 5.5.1 of this Edition);
-deleted that ultrasonic testing can be used instead of hydraulic test (see
5.5.4 of Edition 2008);
added that steel pipe can be negotiated for ultrasonic nondestructive testing;
added galvanized layer and related technical requirements (see 5.9 and Annex A of this Edition).
This Standard was proposed by China Iron and Steel Association.
This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Steels of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 183).
