Foreword
This Standard was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaced GB/T 6508-2001 Test Method for Dyeing Uniformity of
Polyester Filament Yarns. The major differences between this Standard and GB/T
6508-2001 are as follows.
--- Cancel Method B Instrument Method (see Chapter 1 of this Edition; Chapter 1 of
2001 Edition);
--- Single feed yarn circular hosiery machine is changed into. test knitting machine;
all “hosiery machine” in the corresponding standards is changed into “test knitting
machine” (see 6.1 of this Edition; 4.1.4.1 of 2001 Edition);
--- Modify the scouring conditions; adopt 5g/L neutral soap powder (soap tablets),
1.25 above bath ratio, 85°C temperature, and scouring for 30min (see 7.3.1 of
this Edition; 4.1.6.2 of 2001 Edition);
--- Dye concentration is changed into. disperse blue 2BLN recommended
concentration of 1%~2% (for fabric mass) (see 7.4.1 of this Edition; 4.1.6.3 of
2001 Edition);
--- Modify the dying bath ratio into. bath ratio 1.20 ~ 1.60 (for fabric mass), determine
according to the relevant dyeing machine requirements (see 7.4.1 of this Edition;
4.1.6.3 of 2001 Edition);
--- Dyeing soaking time is changed into. adopt 60min when arbitrating (see 7.4.1 of
this Edition; 4.1.6.3 of 2001 Edition).

Test Method for Dyeing
Uniformity of Polyester Filament Yarns
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the test method for dyeing uniformity of polyester filament
yarns – hosiery dyeing method.
This Standard is applicable to draw texturing yarn and drawn yarn. Other types of
filaments can be used for reference.

--- Time. 30min.
7.3.2 Scouring procedures
The scouring can be carried out directly in the dyeing machine; can also be carried out
in other equipment with mixing device and can reach the scouring temperature.
Operate according to the following procedures.
--- According to the garter quality, weigh neutral soap powder (soap tablet) (accurate
to 1%) as per the provisions of 7.3.1; use 60°C small amount of water to dissolve
into soap liquid;
--- According to the scouring equipment requirements, determine the bath ratio;
pour water, soap liquid into scouring equipment, and prepare the scouring liquid
bath; after thoroughly mixing, place into the garter; after raise temperature to
85°C, preserve heat for 30min;
--- Discharge waste liquid, take out garter; use about 85°C soft water to wash till it
becomes neutral; dewater, and waiting for dyeing.
7.4 Dyeing
7.4.1 Dyeing conditions
The dyeing conditions are as follows.
--- Dyeing stuff. disperse blue 2BLN recommended concentration is 1%~2% (for
fabric mass); determine the amount of adding according to the color absorption
of the product;
--- Bath ratio. 1.20 – 1.60 (for fabric mass); determine according to relevant
requirements of dyeing machine;
--- Dyeing temperature. boiling dyeing (the boiling point temperature is different as
the atmospheric pressure is changed in different regions) or determine according
to relevant requirements of dyeing machine;
--- Buffering agent. acetic acid – sodium acetate buffering solution, pH=5, add 1mL
per liter of dye bath.
--- Soaking time. when arbitrating, adopt 60min; or determine according to relevant
requirements of dyeing machine.
7.4.2 Dyeing procedures
Operate as per the following procedures.
