Foreword
GB/T 28046 Road Vehicles – Environmental Conditions and Testing for Electrical and
Electronic Equipment consists of the following 5 parts:
--- Part 1: General;
--- Part 2: Electrical Loads;
--- Part 3: Mechanical Loads;
--- Part 4: Climatic Loads;
--- Part 5: Chemical Loads.
This Part belongs to Part 5 of GB/T 28046.
This Part was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Part adopts the re-drafting method to modify and use ISO 16750-5:2010 Road
Vehicles – Environmental Conditions and Testing for Electrical and Electronic
Equipment – Part 5: Chemical Loads.
The technical differences and causes between this Part and ISO 16750-5 are as
follows:
--- Present the contents of Table 3 in the original text into the form of an appendix
for the reference of the user; delete the Clause 5; add Appendix A (Informative).
--- Add the provisions of “the type and supplier of the chemical reagents can be
negotiated between the supplier and the purchaser; the ingredients listed in the
Appendix can be used for reference” to 4.1; add the operability of the standard.
--- Add the provisions of “wetting time shall be negotiated between the supplier and
the purchaser” to 4.6; add the operability of the standard.
--- Add “any method can be selected when there are multiple wetting methods” to
Note a in Table 1; add the operability of the standard.
--- The contents of 4.3 does not reflect the number of cycles; delete the description
of “increase the number of cycles” in the original text to facilitate the
understanding of the standard.
--- Simplify the description in 4.8 of the original text to facilitate the understanding
of the standard.
--- Unify the room temperature parameters involved in the original text 4.4, 4.5, 4.6

Part 5: Chemical Loads
1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 28046 describes the chemical loads that may be encountered by
systems/components installed at specific locations on/in the vehicle; and specifies the
test and requirements.
This Part is applicable to the automotive electrical and electronic systems/components.
This Part is not applicable to the electrical and electronic systems/components that are
continuously exposed to chemical reagents (e.g.: the fuel pumps that are permanently
submerged in fuel).

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 28046.1
apply.
VI Soaking
4.7 Test conditions
Unless otherwise specified, the DUT applied reagent shall be tested as per the
temperature and retention time specified in Table 1.
4.8 Procedures
The test procedures are as follows:
a) Visually examine the sample. If required, the functional checks shall be
performed; record the data and compared with the data after test.
b) Make the DUT satisfy the conditions in 4.4.
c) Place the DUT as specified, including the necessary electrical and mechanical
connections.
d) Apply the reagents conforming to the provisions of Table 1 and 4.6 to the DUT.
e) Make the reagents on the DUT naturally drain without shaking or wiping.
f) Store the DUT in the test chamber as per the test temperature and retention time
specified in Table 1.
g) Stabilize the DUT at room temperature.
h) If there is more than 1 cycle, repeat the procedures d) to g).
i) Check the DUT as required by 4.9.
NOTE: Pay attention to all safety and warning instructions during the test.
4.9 Requirements
After the test, the functional status shall reach the Class-C specified in GB/T 28046.1-
2011; the marking and label shall remain clearly visible. If there are other requirements,
it shall be negotiated between the supplier and the purchaser.
