Foreword
This Standard is drafted according to the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009.
GB/T 18915 Coated Glass is divided into two parts.
- Part 1. Solar control coated glass;
- Part 2. Low emissivity coated glass.
This Part is Part 1 of GB/T 18915 Coated Glass.
This Part replaces GB/T 18915.1-2002 Coated Glass Part 1. Solar Control Coated
Glass.
Compared with GB/T 18915.1-2002, this Part has been revised mainly as follows.
- Add and modify the definitions of coated glass, solar control coated glass, pinhole,
spot, stain and dark strip in Terms and Definitions;
- Delete the definition of scratch in the Terms and Definitions;
- Delete the division of superior product and qualified product of solar control
coated glass in the Product Classification;
- Add that the solar control coated glass is divided into offline solar control coated
glass and online solar control coated glass, based on coating process;
- Add Table 1;
- Delete the edge processing requirements of tempered and semi-tempered solar
control coated glass original coating;
- Modify the requirements of appearance quality;
- Modify the requirements of optical performance;
- Modify the requirements of color uniformity test, specimen size, and batch
sampling method of chromatic aberration specimen;
- Modify the wear-scar measurement position of abrasive resistance test;
- Modify the specimen size of acid resistance test and alkali resistance test.
This Standard was proposed by China Building Materials Federation.
This Standard shall be centralized by the National Architectural Glass Standardization
Technical Committee (SAC/TC 255).

3  Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this Part, the following terms and definitions shall apply.
3.1
Coated glass
Through physical or chemical methods, one layer or multiply layers of metal, metallic
compound or nonmetallic compound coatings are applied on the glass surface to
meet special requirements of glass products.
3.2
Solar control coated glass
Through the coating-layer, the optical property is changed. It refers to the coated
glass that has the selective reflection and absorptive action against the sunlight with
wavelength range of 300nm-2500nm.
3.3
Pinhole
Observed from the coating surface of coated glass, it refers to the transparent
dot-shape defects that are caused by glass not attached with coating-layer or
coating-layer too thin.
3.4
Spot
Observed from the coating surface of coated glass, it refers to the dot-shape defects
that are in darker color, compared with the overall coating-layer.
3.5
Stain
Observed from the glass surface of coated glass, it refers to the cloud-shape,
radial-shape or strip-shape defects caused by uneven coating-layer or the color
variation of coating-layer surface.
3.6
Dark stripe
Observed from the glass surface of coated glass, it refers to the strip-shape area of
5.5 Color uniformity
USE chromatic aberration ᇞEab of CIELAB uniform color space to represent the color
uniformity of solar control coated glass. The chromatic aberration shall be less than
2.5.
5.6 Abrasive resistance
The absolute value of visible light transmittance difference value of specimen before
and after the test shall not be greater than 4%.
5.7 Acid resistance
The absolute value of visible light transmittance difference value of specimen before
and after the test shall not be greater than 4%. The coating-layer change shall be
uniform and the local coating is not allowed to fall-off.
5.8 Alkali resistance
The absolute value of visible light transmittance difference value of specimen before
and after the test shall not be greater than 4%. The coating-layer change shall be
uniform and the local coating is not allowed to fall-off.
6  Test methods
6.1 Size deviation, thickness deviation and diagonal difference
MEASURE the size deviation, thickness deviation and diagonal difference according
to the methods specified in GB 11614.
6.2 Determination of curvature
6.2.1 MEASURE the curvature of non-tempered solar control coated glass
according to the methods specified in GB 11614.
6.2.2 MEASURE the curvature of tempered and non-tempered solar control coated
glass according to the methods specified in GB 15763.2.
6.3 Determination of the appearance quality
6.3.1 Determination of pinholes, spots and scratches
In an environment not affected by the ambient light, put the specimen vertically at the
position 600 mm away from the screen. The screen is matt black screen, installed with
several 40W fluorescents of which the spacing distance is 300 mm. The observer
shall be 600 mm away from the specimen, to observe with his sight verti...
